Wedding Frequently Asked Questions
How many photos do you deliver?
I edit 50-100 photos per hour I shoot, with some black and white versions
of those photos.
For a 7 hour wedding day I usually edit 500-700 plus photos.
When and How do you deliver the photos?
I edit and deliver a sneak peek within a few days after the wedding day and
the rest of the gallery within 4-9 weeks depending on how busy I am.
I deliver the photos through an online gallery where you can view and
download the photos at your preferred device/s. Whoever has the link
can view and/or download the photos as well.
Are prints/albums included?
No, since everything is digital, less and less clients show interest in prints.
If you decide that you want to have an album or printed photos I can help you for an extra fee.
You can also print them at your preferred photo lab.
What about second shooters?
I mostly shoot solo. Second shooters are mostly necessary when the couple wants ‘’getting ready photos’’ and they are both getting ready at the same time but in different locations. Another reason you may want to have 2 photographers is: if you are getting married in a church where the photographer isn’t allowed to move around and you wish to have photos from multiple angles. Also, if you have traditions/events that take place separately and you need the photographer at the same time in 2 different locations.
You can always add a second shooter in your package. If you are interested please ask me for their ongoing hourly rate.
What is the booking process?
Once you decide to continue with me I will send you a questionnaire where you will answer some questions that I need for the contract. After we both sign the contract there is a booking fee of 50% of the whole amount. Once the fee is in place, your date is on my calendar.
For how many hours should you book with me?
Every wedding day is special to each couple, some have more events involved, some have less, some care for more moments to be captured and some are nonchalant. None of them are right or wrong. It’s what YOU WANT during your special day.
What a typical wedding day looks like:
Getting Ready Photos (1.5-2.5 hours)
Getting ready photos usually include: bride putting her makeup on and doing her hair, photos of the dress, the shoes, jewelry and invitation cards. Bride getting into her dress while the mom or the bridesmaids are helping them with tying the dress and putting on the veil and the shoes. Photos with family and the bridesmaids (in their robes and their dresses). Getting ready of the groom.
Please keep in mind that if you aren’t getting ready on the ceremony location, we have some travel time. (20-60 minutes including drive, parking and setting up the gear).
First Look of bride and groom or bride and dad (10-20 minutes if the location doesn’t change)
This is a good option if you want couples’ photos and bridal party photos before the ceremony.
Ceremony: 20-60 minutes
I suggest you not to keep the ceremony less than 20 minutes. That’s your moment! Exchange your vows, hold each others’ hands, look into each other's eyes and most importantly DO NOT rush the ring exchange and the first kiss. The photographer cannot ask ‘‘hey…can you please redo it’’ so please enjoy the first kiss and keep it a little extra.
Formal photos, bridal party, couple’s formals (1-3 hours)
Depending on the family size, if you have or you don’t have a bridal party, how long you want to spend with your partner alone and how many locations we will be shooting at it can take up to 1-3 hours. This takes place usually during the cocktail hour or before the ceremony if you do the first look.
Sometimes there is an opening where the couple is done with the photos and they enjoy their guests at their cocktail hour. This is when the photographer takes photos of the reception decor and gets ready for the grand entrance.
Reception (3-5 hours)
Grand entrance: 10-15 minutes
Prayers/dinner: 45-60 minutes
First Dance, parents/kids first dance, table visits, cake cutting, bouquet/garter belt toss, open dance floor, money dance, grand exit: 2-4 hours.
This is an approximate timeline but there are many variables that can determine the duration of photo coverage.
7 hours= getting ready (one location) up to cake cutting.
8 hours= getting ready photos (one location) up to open dance floor.
or
8 hours= getting ready (at different locations) up to cake cutting.
10 hours=getting ready at different locations or family photos and couple's portraits at different locations than the venue and up to cake cutting/ maybe some open dance floor and/or exit (the end).
or
10 hours=getting ready photos up to exit (the end)- when everything takes place at the venue.
