Frequently Asked Questions

Pink Light Photography FAQS

Q: What do you recommend we wear to an engagement session?

A:When getting your engagement pictures taken, it is recommended that you wear something comfortable. Depending on your style, some couples prefer to wear jeans and a casual shirt, while other couples are more comfortable wearing more formal clothes, complete with high heels. It is recommended to wear solid colors that contrast with your skin tone to achieve the best look. Try to avoid white and light colors as they can easily get dirty and tend to be reflective in the light. Bring a change of clothes or two, and switch it up to get a variety of pictures all representing your style.

Q: What is the advantage of having engagement photos taken?

A: Engagement photos allow for couples to spend time together, taking romantic pictures before your wedding day. Engagement photos allow for you to get those long romantic kissing pictures, or the pictures with you and your significant other giving each other long, affectionate looks. On your wedding day, you’ll be able to get in a quick kiss or two before you begin celebrating with everyone you know and love. Most couples use the photos that are captured at their engagement session on their save-the-date cards, announcements, and signing books. Engagement photos give couples the opportunity to get used to being photographed, and spending time with their photographer before their big day.

Q: What is image retouching?

A: Image retouching is the process of altering the initial image to reflect something that is different from how it appeared in reality. This could include, removing pimples, wrinkles, hair in mouth, redness, or even acne from an individuals face. Image retouching is not limited to just individuals, it can also be used to remove things from the background that should not be there. Examples of this include, bystanders, light poles, cables on the ground, etc.

Q: My (husband/wife/partner/fiancé) hates having their picture taken, can you help?

A: Yes, at MS Photo and Video we understand that not everyone enjoys having their picture taken. Because of this we try to shoot quickly and get the best shots possible. During engagement and bridal sessions, we take breaks to chat and have fun with the experience. This helps individuals to loosen up and enjoy the experience a little bit more, get to know us and become more comfortable in front of the camera. On the wedding day we try to get more candid shots, catching both the bride and groom in their natural element as opposed to posed pictures.

Q: I don’t photograph well, and often feel uncomfortable on camera, can you help me?

A: Yes! We understand that not everyone feels comfortable having their picture taken, especially multiple pictures. On your wedding day you’ll be surprised how easy it is for you to forget about the camera as you will get caught up in all of the festivities of the day. One of the things that helps us to capture great shots of your wedding is remaining unobtrusive, allowing for you to relax and be comfortable, and us to capture the perfect images.
